Exterior beauty with hidden depths
Space-age technology sits lightly on the Jaguar XJ. But appearances can be deceptive. The sculptured bumpers, for example, incorporate ultrasonic parking sensors that can detect objects invisible to the driver. There are radar projectors for the optional Adaptive Cruise Control system. Light sensors in the windscreen activate dipped beam headlights and sidelights when ambient light levels fall, while a rain-sensing wiper system automatically adjusts speed to react to the volume of rain detected is fitted as standard on all XJ models.

Bi-xenon headlights
High-intensity discharge bi-xenon headlights, with their distinctive brilliant blue-white glow, provide greater visibility than standard halogen bulbs. They also feature automatic levelling and headlight powerwash. Optional on XJ6, Sport and SE models and standard on all others.

Front & Rear Parking Assist
Front and Rear Parking Assist use ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers to detect unseen obstacles - such as hidden kerbs and low bollards - at the front or rear of the car. Audible beeps alert the driver to the remaining distance, as the car gets closer to the obstacle. Rear Parking Assist is standard to all models. Front Parking Assist is optional on the XJ6 and Sport V8 and standard to all other models.

Exterior mirrors with ground illumination
Power folding door mirrors fold inwards towards the car to help when parking in tight spaces, on the roadside, or going through a narrow gap. Standard on most models and optional on XJ6 and Sport V8. All models feature electrochromic glass to prevent glare and are heated for clear visibility in cold or wet weather.
Heated screens
For your convenience and visibility in frosty weather, heated front windscreens are standard on most models and optional on the XJ6 and Sport V8. Heated rear windows, with inbuilt timers to protect your battery levels are standard on all models. At low temperatures, heated screens will switch on automatically to ensure visibility and safety.

Rain sensing wipers
All XJ models feature rain sensors which activate and adjust wiper speed to the volume and intensity of rain.
Garage Door Opener
Operating at a frequency of 0 mHz to 433 mHz, remote garage opening for your convenience and security is fitted to the Super V8 and is available as an option on most other models.
